I'm a licensed clinical psychologist in Virginia (license no. 0810007407) practicing with Virginia Family Therapy in Charlottesville, VA.

Training:

My predoctoral internship was completed at the Salem VAMC in Salem, Virginia. Although it was a generalist training, my primary rotations were in geropsychology, behavioral medicine, and general mental health. During graduate school, I practiced in the UVA hospital (the Memory and Aging Care Clinic in Neurology and Behavioral Medicine) and the Mary Ainsworth Clinic.

Orientation:

I am a cognitive-behavioral therapist, and I practice collaboratively with my clients. I work to balance my patient's preferences, the research literature, and my own clinical judgment to inform care plans. I enjoy pulling from both CBT- and ACT-based treatments to really allow my clients to understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact, and how they can change how they think and how the behave in order to live according to their own values. I specialize in anxiety and related disorders, and have an interest in working with individuals and families struggling with PTSD, depression, grief, and coping with chronic or terminal illness. I enjoy working with clients of all ages, and emphasize my client’s strengths. Additionally, I have an appreciation for working with individuals struggling with end-of-life issues, including coping with chronic or terminal illness and grieving the death of a loved one.
